A way of wellness to reset and connect.

Updated: Apr 21

One thing I find myself doing all year is escaping to the woods around me. Usually with my pups in tow. Whether it be on the farm, on the beach or at a local park, I find immense relaxation and stress relief from the day, situation or to be curious and enjoy the scenery and peace it brings. Most of the time I bring my camera with me to capture meaningful moments, or something to reflect back on big or small with my macro lens. Sitting quietly and absorbing the atmosphere around me. The world is so large and vast and I'm a dot on this earth. So, I decided to learn more how this environment I'm drawn to naturally can be used for more. There has to be a way and all along I was doing it without knowing. Almost instinctual so to say. In turn, I received my schooling and continue educating myself and others the Japanese concept of Shinrin-yoku, meaning "bathing in the forest atmosphere." Forest Bathing. I never knew this type of "thing" existed. So, I said let's do this since I'm here all the time (Laughingly).

As a Forest Therapy Practitioner, I guide sensory walks with small groups or individually to slow down and observe the surroundings using sight, sound, touch and smell in various ways. Mindfulness sharing to help bring connection, ways to quiet the mind, reduce stress, calm and reset us to our most natural calm state. Some light yoga-based stretching, art-based activity using the environment, aromatherapy, refreshments and always to your comfort level.

I enjoy working with individuals who have specific health conditions and social vulnerabilities. PTSD, C-PTSD, social anxiety, chronic stress, depression, generalized anxiety, abuse survivors, however it's also for anyone who would like to explore more. I am my own client as well, trauma informed and relate on many levels as a survivor and physically impaired.

The scientifically proven benefits:

Reduced blood pressure

Improved immune function

Deeper understanding and connection with yourself and nature

Helps with creative thinking and those seeking solutions

In the interim as I set everything up during spring weather, I will soon be hosting small group and individual guides. So let's take a walk, unplug, reconnect, as the motto means, we can sip, soak and grow!

jennifer posted my 6 year old child publically online after verbally abusing me on what is supposed to me a cptsd support page. Do not bring your children here, she is a vile woman. Has refused to take the picture down and blocked me on everything. She has a facebook page named this too as a buisness. But please be mindful this was all because i corrected her on discrimination and after she got verbally abusive i started telling her i wasnt reading what she put and she grabbed this photo off my account and tried to make a comment insult. By bringing my child into this. Do not bring your custom here. And for the reccord. My child has…

About:

SIP, SOAK & GROW

Welcome! After many years of enjoying Geauga’s fresh air, I’ve grown into an enthusiastic animal lover, passionate photographer, dedicated gardener, and creative maker. My healing journey began in 2007 when I was diagnosed with CRPS and aggressive seropositive RA, which led to physical challenges. With determination, my daughter’s encouragement, and plenty of surgeries along the way, I discovered new passions in down time (hard for me to sit still)—soap making, glasswork, and horticulture—that spurred deep personal growth. Soon, foraging medicinal native plants, and concocting recipes became important to me, and ducks, dogs, and cats joined the fun on my six-acre piece of “peachy tree” paradise—the hobby farm.

From military boots to legal suits, my path has now brought me back to what heals me & makes me happiest: Nature. Guiding others as a Internationally Certified Forest Therapy and Wellness Guide. I also currently work at Lake Metroparks.

My mission is simple: to show that nature can be the ultimate form of healing and therapy, especially for anyone facing separation, grief, divorce, CPTSD, PTSD, anxiety, or trauma—whether child or adult. Holistic therapy, each of my creations—whether photographs or handmade crafts—carries elements of healing, self-compassion, and the gardening wisdom passed down from my grandfather.  I hope my offerings bring care, creativity, and a spark of positivity into your life. This is a safe space...So, enjoy your coffee or tea, take care of yourself, and let Mother Nature help you flourish—she truly knows her stuff.

A longing for a little peace of mind.

Seeking out the quiet places.

The places where we can rest for a while.

And I wonder, may they still be found.

As all around us is far too much sound.

Little Words by Athey Thompson

Thank you for visiting and much love,

Jenny
