What Are Terpenes?

Terpenes (also called phytoncides) are aromatic compounds released by trees and plants.

They evolved as protection for plants — but interact directly with the human immune and nervous system.

In forests, we inhale them naturally.

At home, we usually don’t. Try to create a new environment for yourself inside and out by finding these plants in nature!

  • Therapeutic Potential: Research suggests terpenes possess medicinal benefits, including pain relief and anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Natural vs. Botanical: Natural terpenes can be directly extracted from plants or botanical sources, with the former offering a more comprehensive, true-to-plant aroma.

𝛼-Pinene (Pine, Rosemary): Known for anti-inflammatory and bronchodilator properties, aiding in respiratory health and reducing inflammation.

Linalool (Lavender): Acts as a sedative and anti-anxiety agent by enhancing GABA receptor activity.

Myrcene (Hops, Mango): Provides muscle-relaxant, analgesic (pain relief), and sedative effects.

Limonene (Citrus): Offers antioxidant properties and helps elevate mood by increasing serotonin and dopamine.

𝛽-Caryophyllene (Black Pepper, Clove): Directly interacts with the endocannabinoid system to reduce inflammation and protect against neuroinflammation.

These natural compounds are crucial components in aromatherapy and phytotherapy, helping to reduce stress and promote overall wellness.

I do not reccomend bringing you buisness here. Especially with your children. Jennifer had taken a picture of my child and posted it pu licly online to a group full of preditors. Happily pass you the evidence. This woman is a danger to children and you should be very careful if you are part of her facebook group and part of her personal facebook pages. She got very verbally abusive after imposted a comment explain what discrimination was. She is very unprofessional, very rude, sadistic too for posting a 6 year old girl that wasnt her child on a public group open to anyone when my permission was not given and she then refusedto take it down. Please be wary

About:

SIP, SOAK & GROW

Welcome! After many years of enjoying Geauga’s fresh air, I’ve grown into an enthusiastic animal lover, passionate photographer, dedicated gardener, and creative maker. My healing journey began in 2007 when I was diagnosed with CRPS and aggressive seropositive RA, which led to physical challenges. With determination, my daughter’s encouragement, and plenty of surgeries along the way, I discovered new passions in down time (hard for me to sit still)—soap making, glasswork, and horticulture—that spurred deep personal growth. Soon, foraging medicinal native plants, and concocting recipes became important to me, and ducks, dogs, and cats joined the fun on my six-acre piece of “peachy tree” paradise—the hobby farm.

From military boots to legal suits, my path has now brought me back to what heals me & makes me happiest: Nature. Guiding others as a Internationally Certified Forest Therapy and Wellness Guide. I also currently work at Lake Metroparks.

My mission is simple: to show that nature can be the ultimate form of healing and therapy, especially for anyone facing separation, grief, divorce, CPTSD, PTSD, anxiety, or trauma—whether child or adult. Holistic therapy, each of my creations—whether photographs or handmade crafts—carries elements of healing, self-compassion, and the gardening wisdom passed down from my grandfather.  I hope my offerings bring care, creativity, and a spark of positivity into your life. This is a safe space...So, enjoy your coffee or tea, take care of yourself, and let Mother Nature help you flourish—she truly knows her stuff.

A longing for a little peace of mind.

Seeking out the quiet places.

The places where we can rest for a while.

And I wonder, may they still be found.

As all around us is far too much sound.

Little Words by Athey Thompson

Thank you for visiting and much love,

Jenny
